John Ellis is a Sports Performance Coach for Next Level Sports Performance. He has overseen the development of athletes for all ages and levels of competition - from middle school all the way to professional. He has worked with NCAA and NFL athletes as well as clients ranging from 11 to 50+ years old.
A former track & field athlete and a native of Nassau, Bahamas, John graduated from the College of the Bahamas where he earned a degree in Journalism & Communication in 2005. In 2008 he moved to the United States to enroll at the University of Central Florida, earning his Bachelor of Science in Sport & Fitness.
While at UCF, John served as a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for three years under Head Coaches Ed Ellis and Scott Sinclair. With the Knights, he supervised the strength and conditioning programs for women’s basketball, volleyball, cross country, track and field, and assisted with the baseball and football teams. From there Coach Ellis went on to serve as the Director of Sports Performance for Windermere Preparatory School in Windermere, Florida. He oversaw all aspects of sports performance for all 12 Varsity Sports Teams and served as the Head Coach for the Lakers Weightlifting Team. His responsibilities included player development, training, design and implementation of speed, strength, agility and flexibility programs.
Coach Ellis is currently Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) and holds a Sport Performance Coach certification through USA Weightlifting (USAW) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified Performance Enhancement Specialist a NCBTMB Board certified in Massage therapy, a Licensed Massage Therapist and is a member of the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA).
